Cad Cars

Post

I have a big interest in formula 1 car's , and being a draftsman also spend my time trying to track down autocad files of formula 1 cars on the net. Anyone got any that they could email me. Year of cars unimportant or 2d or 3d unimportant. All these files are just for my own use.

Thanks

This site looks like you just jacked all of the aero contents of this site, and took some of ITV's stuff as well.
Bring back wider rear wings, V10s, and tobacco advertisements

Hummm....about the stuff taken from f1technical, I don't think Tomba will mind if you use it!!!! about ITV-F1....send them an e-mail asking permission to use the stuff....and in the mean time....leave the link from where you took the material.

From my experence the easiest thing to do is to start from scratch using photos, there seems to be a distinct lack of CAD drawings out there.

Although I will add that it is worth contacting companies directly. The teams themselves will be unwilling to release plans but I have had some success with other manufacturers... Hewland were most helpful, and Cosworth seemed quite willing to help with details of their DFV/R engines.

Other than that there are a couple of sites with 'Plans' available in raster form....
http://www.suurland.com/
http://www.smcars.net./

My only other suggestion are model plans, they seem reasonably acurate.
Unfortunately these do intail a bit of work to get them into CAD form.
