Jaguar Team Principal Niki Lauda has admitted the rest of the season is all about making it through to the end of the season, and limiting the harm for more disappointing races.
Ford will most probably give green light to Jaguar to stay in Formula One, and to avoid another season like the current, the engineers will precisely analyse the current R3 to make sure these errors are not made in next season's design for the R4.
‘We started the season with a bad car and there are only so many corrective measures you can take,’ Lauda told the team’s website. ‘Our main objective, however, is to learn exactly where the mistakes have been made in an effort to avoid passing the problem onto next year’s car.’
