Ugliest car Of The 2008 Season

Post

What in your opinion is the ugliest car of the 2008 season???

Personally, after the recent Hungarian GP, i think that the McLaren is the ugliest with the Antlers/Dumbo Wings/Seagul wings and the bridge wing, with the general way it looks to me, its just ugly.

The Ferarri is no looker, to be honest non of them are that good looking, altho id say that the Toyota and the Force India are probably the best of the bad bunch for my eye.

Whats you view on this matter?

Certainly is amazing how highly developed the winglets etc are now, and i can't possibly begin to imagine how complex the moulds have become. I'm sure its probably not all done in one go so to speak but its still incredibly impressive.

I have noticed that they all express an individuality in the various winglets and other aero aides.

Take the Dumbo wings for example. I feel the Mclaren ones are more elegantly/cassically styled where as the BMW are more aggressive and edgy looking far more modern. I'm not trying to say either is right but I find the fact that they don't all just blatently copy really quite refreshing. Thats not how motorsport usually works but I suppose they need make whatever is likely to work better with the rest of the package.

ANYWAY!

I like the Force India (never thought i'd say that) and I quite like how the Toro Rosso includes the "toilet Bowl" into it's livery.

The BMW has a somewhat more challenging aesthetic appeal Ithink this is down to the White which helps simplify/calm down the complex shape. If it were totally covered in logo's I think it'd be a carbon headache.

I'm terrible really I have a soft spot for all of the teams especially Super Aguri (RIP) The Works Honda looks a bit like a Mint or something in that livery. The Renualt looks quite rough this year in some views and the Red bull looks distinctly Mid-field. The toilet bowl ruins the ferrari. The Toyota looks pretty Smart but having looked at a few pics now I think I have to say that my favourite has to be the williams for its overall simplicity and classically styled livery.

At the start of the year, the Mclaren was by far the prettiest car:

Along with the F1.08:

But ever since then they have turned into abominations (albeit fast abominations). Ugliest?

Honda! At the start of the year, that was a very pretty car but now it's got some tumour on the nose #-o

As soon as I saw the topic the answers popped into my head...

Ugliest cars: Force India because of the livery, and McLaren, Honda, and BMW for all the ugly add-ons.

Now, most beautiful?

The Ferrari. The top segment of the wing integrated into the tip of the nose with the hole in the nosecone are simply stunning (aesthetically I dislike all the cars with bridge wings over the nose), no ugly add-ons (although the dorsal find doesn't help much :D), and a simple yet cool livery.

I find the Mclaren to be one of the best looking. I try to imagine at where the air is going over the body, and think of where the winglets owuld go if there were no rules. Don't know i guess i'm wierd, but the Ferrari is ugly with the dorsal fin...

2008 is the ugly season. Dump them all! Bring back the 90´s!!!

Seriously, I don´t like aero era. The cars are too messy.

I really really miss black winged Ferraris, with golden wheel rims.

What do you call a "toilet Bowl"?

Anyways, I thnik the STR and Williams are the best looking. The ugliest is the Force India, in my opinion. Because it looks as if they tried to copy other teams but could only use a ruler.

This is probably what he is referring to with "toilet bowl":

I don't find any of them ugly. As long as everything has a purpose, then the synergy alone is ultra beautiful.

If it has a purpose, and that purpose is positive, then it is beautiful.

Well, I can say that my life would be less beautiful without it, so its functionality alone is worthy of respect, and admiration.

I don't really have a personal view of these cars, I am simply stunned that they even exist, and respect the people and their creation to the utmost. Regardless of what it looks like. I think they are beautiful, all of them, simply because they are the epitome of complex harmony.

Just try to live without one  , maybe you'd need toilet bowl shaped pants.

In my case I hate most aerodinamic addons but this one is different, but if you ask me about beauty in an artistic fashion I'll get aero free cars.
