Harley Davidson completes purchase of MV Agusta
http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/News/ ... finalised/
"Harley has acquired 100 percent of MV Agusta Group shares for a total cost of approximately 70 million euros ($108 million), which includes the paying of existing bank debt for approximately £35 million debts."
Claudio Castiglioni has many new 'fun tickets' (READ: $$$) to play with.
Now, how to market these things together, THAT'll be a treat.
I was at the "International Motorcycle Show" here in Seattle a couple years ago, and two obvious Harley riders came up to the F4. One held his hand over the license plate graphic that had the list price of the bike ($29,995 US) and asked his buddy to:
"Guess how much?"
Buddy: "I dunno, ten, twelve grand?"
"Nope- twenty nine thou, freaking 995!!"
Buddy: "Damn, that's more than I spent on my Harley!"
Duh.
Cross shopping? NOT.
Customer service? Probably worse than the Buell shoppers get...
