Optimum temperature for slicks?

Post

I wonder what the optimum temp. is in C' for different sorts of circuit racing. I read somewhere that current F1 tyres need be around 110 C to perform properly. But what about the slicks?
I'm also interested if the slicks for GT cars are much different and what their approx. optimum operating temperatures are.

For FIA GT cars the optimum tire temp is around 80-90 C as far as I know. I guess it's a little bit higher for F1, 100-110 C sounds reasonable. Take this with a grain of salt, though.

Temperature range for peak grip is a compound property. If they go with the same compound, will require same heat. I'd imagine slicks would run a little warmer.

Also, bear in mind, tire company can make the tire operate in whatever temperature range they want. Nothin magical about 90-110C.
Grip is a four letter word. All opinions are my own and not those of current or previous employers.

Most of the motorsport tyre suppliers will be able to advise on optimum temp, just call and ask them.
