Going from the IT sector to the automotive industry ?

Hello!

In what areas does the automotive industry need IT people ?

I have always stayed close the farm, and stayed within the IT industry, but recently I have been thinking about getting a job at a car company.
But know why, just think it could be fun (Yes, I DO know of the current economical situation...)

It depends what you do as an IT person.

Are you good with programming? You should be able to work with engineerson alomst everything that uses softwares etc..

I kind of doubt that now is the right time to try to find a job in the auto industry.

I agree with the other people here that you should rethink your decision because it will take a long time for the auto industry to recover and it's facing stiff competition globally. Why not shift to mobile programming and etc?
