Technical Analysis - Brawn GP-Anyone interested in helping?

Post

Writing a technical analysis of the BGP001 for me. I would love to do this but have little time to make it worthy of the topic with keeping on top of the other things required from my blog (and my workload at my full time job ;) ) I basically run http://www.brawngp.blogspot.com and would love to have a technical feature based on what we have seen of the BGP001 so far compared to other designs. It would be great to post everyone's analysis in here and then make a combined effort to summerise it into the full version. I will of course acknowledge all of the contributors on the site along with this site.

I think the prime areas of focus should be:

Front Wing and front section
Mid Section design (Bargeboards/sidepods/winglets etc)
Rear end including Wing and diffuser
NON KERS advantages/disadvantages
Ballast advantage due to above
And of course anything else you guys can sink your teeth into......

Should any moderators etc feel this inappropriate, no worries.

Thanks Matt

Hey Keir, indeed. Was bound to run into a few people along the way though hey. OT but had rather a few issues with SSC of late so stepped down as a Mod btw.

You can search the web for it.Or just lazily wait it to have an article in wikipedia about brawngp and the bgp001. And welcome here, matt. be free to post here.

theres a really interesting splitter/wedge under the drivers feet at the front end of the legality plank which some believe is the true aid reason why the brawn gp car is so fast. it channels the air under the nose of the car under the main plane of the car towards the diffuser, thus this extra air coupled with an their awesome diffuser design work like magic to create much needed downforce.

also here's some good links on how to visualize the regs and diffuser designs
