Y Plus

Post

I am using different discretization schemes in Fluent to predict accurate results, discretisation schemes such as PRESTO for Pressure, second order upwind for Continuity etc etc

different discretisation schemes for the same 3d model, however when i refine the Yplus values to a certain limit and reducing it so there are 0 cells to refine, the amount of cells that are being refined vary accordingly to the different schemes, does anyone know why?

surely they should be the same amount of cells refined?

Re: Y Plus

The y-plus values depend on the flow solution itself. Different schemes give different accuracies and therefore slightly different solutions. It is therefore expected that the necessary refinement might depend a bit on the schemes applied. If there is an order of magnitude difference in terms of refinement necesseray, however, then there probably exists another issue, perhaps with flow convergence with more accurate (but usually less stable) schemes.

Y PLUS OF WING

Post

Hi
As soon as I start increasing my range of Y PLUS from 50-500 TO 250-500 (coarsen), IN Fluent, my pressure force (Lift) starts to increase and my viscous force starts to decrease

I do not know what is going on??
