Consider yourself quoted. St. Louis provided no challenge at all to the Knuckleheads. The Blues folded like a cheap tent.
Don't get hurt when you get thrown off your band wagon as it comes to a sudden stop if the 'nucks' have to play Detroit.

?

Sure. They folded all right, because tents CAN'T TAKE THE PRESSURE.

By the way, the Canucks fill the arena all year. When the Red Wings aren't on it, the arena in "Hockeytown" is half empty. I was supporting the Nucks before, I support them now, and will support them later. If they lose, I'll talk them up for next year, and be happy that our team gets better all the time.

We'll just have to live with Luongo, the Sedins, Mats Sundin, Alex Burrows, one of the best D's in the whole NHL, etc.

Just like the city they play in, Red Wings are old and tired.

PS - Please no more Hockey Talk on here... I don't wanna get in trouble. 8)

I think the Blues were just happy to make it to the playoffs. They have a lot of kids on the team and they had a lot of injuries throughout the season, so I think making the playoffs was a big victory for them. All credit to the Canucks, though their jerseys seem like a rip-off of the old Hartford Whalers jerseys...BTW a couple incredible game 7's last night!
Best regards. I guess this explains why I'm not at my post!

The Canucks jersey's are actually a throw back to the old ones, with a mix of the modern color scheme from the orca.

The first period of the first game was some of the best hockey I've ever seen, form both sides, fortunately, Vancouver was able to keep up that pace.

Tomorrow night, bring on the Hawks. They should be good and tired flying all the way out here after their game 7.

Our kid, Alex Burrows, has been putting up numbers that veterans can't, so the kids thing is a poor excuse :) The Blues just realized they were outclassed and folded like an origami swan.

Right, with a few more Swedes on the team, perhaps Canucks could even challenge Detroit "Blue&Yellow" Wings?

As a serious Kris Draper fan, I am rooting for Detroit. Heck, I'm from Toronto and my Leafs have done the predictable again.. failed to make the playoffs.
It's been a pretty good playoffs so far, and some incredible finishes in the game 7 the other night. I wonder if Marty Brodeur has calmed down yet. Imagine, game seven, two minutes to go in the game with a 3 - 2 score advantage, only to see the Hurricanes score two goals and send the Devils golfing. Amazing.
Now, round two of the toughest tournament in the world begins tonight... bring it on :D

Have to admit that losing Rangers for Capitals was a bit of a let down though.

I do not believe in "hating" anyone, especially an athlete who I know only from the press, and has never done me harm on a personal level. But there is one exception, and his name is Sean Avery. For that one reason alone I wanted the Rangers to crash and burn. I know it's petty and immature, but this %@#*& jerk just rubs me the wrong way on so many levels.

Shame, since I really like the Rangers coach, John Tortorella.

Perhaps just as much as every Swede my age hates Phil Esposito and Don Cherry.

Don Cherry is the Rush Limbaugh of hockey. Outspoken, controversial, old school, and somehow has legions of fans. Just consider yourself lucky you don't get exposed to him as much I have. Every Saturday night he has a spot on the national televised hockey game (Hockey Night In Canada, a national tradition) and unless I'm lucky enough to be in the can or getting a beer, there he is spouting his philosophy. The guy is so stuck in the past, here's a great example. He has millions in the bank, but here's his personal choice of car. A Ford Lincoln MK V1

In his defence, sometimes he does bring to national attention some issues that are relevant, but ignored. And his support of our military troops is stellar.

You forgot to mention the man's exquisite taste in fashion. Remember him from "Hockey night in Canada" myself when I lived in Montreal, he made those commentators look like Joe Clark. The Quebecois hated him too.

My big beef with him is his blatant racism. His position is that only Canadian players have the intestinal fortitude and grit to play hockey, and that foreign players, especially those from Europe, are pansies.

Tonight, it's the Canucks versus the Blackhawks. Yeehaw, bring it on. Both teams dislike each other, and I'm sure it will be reflected in the game.

Man, how I love the playoffs.

Myself, I am so happy to see Penguins back on their feet again. This is a legacy from living in PA in the mid-late 90s.

As for Grapes, you guys don't take him seriously do ya?
His suit, attitude & comments are all a big schtick to get high TV ratings by Canadians. That's why he's paid the big bucks by Hockey Night in Canada.

My Oilers are long gone & still licking their wounds from the reg. season. I hope they'll be back next year with renewed enthusiasm & a better head coach. Van is the only Canadian team left in the playoffs. I'm gonna throw in my support with Giblet for the Nucks.

Crosby vs. Ovechkin will be a great series too.
Realisticly though, in my playoff pool, I'm picking Detroit all the way.

Back in Montreal in 1993, I picked Kings to go all the way in our office-pool (with Tomas Sandström and Wayne Gretzky as top scorers), much to the poorly-cloaked amusement of my confreres.

But the sob's made it to the finals, why I made out like a bandit in the pool, which seriously pissed the Quebecois off, but when the Kings duly lost the final against Canadiens I was quickly forgiven for taking their money.

I hope to see Sidney Crosby and the Penguins doing something similar for me this year.
