I have been told theres a free software from Ohlins where you can virtually "test" different piston configuration from Ohlins dampers before actually making a piston configuration for going to the track.
That would be a mini virtual rig for an amateur team, dont you think?

It just shows the compression and rebound curves for various combinations of shims, springs, etc. And only for the TTX40. Not sure if piston face geometry was available
Unfortunately it seems since they redid their site it's no longer available. I'm sure they could provide it if you contact them directly.
In any event, better route is probably to engineer your own damper curve. From there you can show this to a manufacturer and work what type of piston faces, shims, etc you'll need to achieve it.

One use I´ll give this soft is to relate the aprox curve from the soft, the one from the testing machine and the inner parts I´ll change to get them. I think it´ll help for the understanding for the whole team, too.
