why do some teams put rear wing supports on the rear wing and wing strakes on both sides (other than supports and straightens the air flow) when the picture below shows what will happen even if it dosen't have that adjustments

I believe it helps to attacht the air a little bit longer to the wing, but i aint sure. It might also help to increase air speed thus increasing downforce, but i odnt think so about that.
