Bernie Ecclestone is working on getting F1 into NY in 2012. This will be awesome and I will be here nice and close to home.

It's probably going to be another street circuit, so I hope it won't happen if that's the case.

And it's on the other side of the country from where I am!

Being from NJ if it's going to be in NJ with the NY skyline in the background it won't be a street circuit.

Why do you say that? Are there any tracks with that view behind them? The NJMP?

Well they are talking about building a race track by the new Giant stadium. If they did do a street race with the New York skyline there are a couple of choices but I would prefer to have the race in Time Square but that would never happen.

It's actually going to be in NJ with the NY skyline in back of it.

I can see them building a circuit around the new Giants stadium and using some of the space from the old building for facilities. I think they can build one in a year. The area is essentially a swamp.

Another idea is to have part of the circuit around the new Red Bull stadium. These guys are going to build a lot of shopping centers and the area will be awesome next year. However, that might mean they'll have to use some of the actual streets in Newark, I don't know.

Either way, there's not much elevation change over there, it's just a swamp. If they use the streets of Hoboken and Jersey City then there will be elevation changes but it will be a boring race nevertheless.

With that said, I feel like if they have a race here it will be great because it will be in my backyard. I expect one of the corners to be named "The Swamp".

With Bernie you always have to remember that he talks about another race while he negotiates. So it could be serious for Indianapolis instead of NJ.

Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly Philly!

Art Museum to Logan Circle to Kelly Drive FTW. Lemon Hill for extra credit. Wide roads with elevation changes all minutes from downtown. Some corners that almost wreck the peloton during the bike race.

NY or NJ would be fine too...I guess... :) I live 3 hours from Indy now but I'd drive back to the East Coast for a GP in a heartbeat. A 9-1/2 hour heartbeat.

Having it in Jersey City would mess traffic up just as bad (if not worse) on account of the bridge and tunnel crowd. It's a given that traffic in Manhattan sucks to begin with, how much worse could it get?
