CFD-Help!!

Post

Ok,
I've designed a part in Solidworks and I want to
se how air flows around it!
How I inport this part into Fluent 6, Airpack,.. or whatever
and than see pressures arround it, how air flows and so on!
Thank you!!

Hehe, now the fun REALLY begins pompelmo!

Now that you've made the part, now we've got to simulate the flow of the fluid around it. So before you get to Fluent, you've got to go through Gambit for meshing the fluid domain 1st.

Not sure about your familiarity with Fluent's CFD package, but I personally spend most of the time and effort in meshing then it's just waiting for convergence from the simulation itself.

So next step is to import into Gambit (unless you prefer or have access to another pre-processing tool, then I'm no help there). Not sure what CAD kernal is native to Solidworks but an export to parasolid, step, acis, or iges formats and then an import into a Gambit session is a start...
