I cant post on the actual thread so I will here.

IMO the reason for running the exhaust forwards is to reduce the space needed for exhaust pipes in the cock bottle narrowing at the cars rear.
The result is a far better aero rear end.
It also takes the exhaust heat away from the rear tyres, which are probably marginal on life this year.
The actual gains from blowing the front floor are small.
