Which email address format do you consider best for business and most professional-looking? Why?

i think it depends on the size of the user base.

you can't have first initial, last name or variation with common names in a large company.

small business would be simple enough to use any of the formats listed.

But in case of individuals, partners or very small company, which format do you think is easier to remember for clients, more handy, looks best, etc.?
I am not talking from a system administrator's point of view, but from the end user's only.
For example, some people do not recommend using dots ("."), because they can be forgotten or be not very visible in hyperlinks with some fonts, etc.
Others suggest the shorter the better; others do not recommend using "jsmith", because with some names the result/association could end up being "weird", etc.
I meant stuff like this. Thanks.
