what angle deflection is the wing allowed to move?
i believe it 50 degrees, but in not completely sure
Now the rear wing flap can pivot near its rear most point and open the slot gap from 10-15mm to up to 50mm. Opening this gap unloads the flap and reduced both downforce and drag.
It is quite funny watching stuff being proposed as an idea on here, it's played with by a few sites e.g. Scarbs, and then reported back as 'fact' on these very pages because "Scarbs says so".
Having said that, good luck to the guy - he puts in the time and effort to pull these things together and present them in a useful fashion. As you say, though, a bit of crediting/referencing wouldn't go amiss.
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.
You can say what you like about Scarbs, he is the only person that is making any sense of twaddle that is being written on F1technical recently. I really get exhausted wading through these pages of bickering and name calling.

I wish he would credit F1 technical when he takes stuff from us though. That's why i stop visiting his site.
Take stuff from you? I wasnt aware I had. What things would they be? ideas or photos? If you can point them out, I'll happily apologise and put credits where they're due.
I often link to photos off the forum on twitter as it gets around the copyright issues I have with the Hi Res photos I get access to. When I tweet these I say its via the F1T forums.
To stick up for Scarbs, its not as if this site is unique. What he reports is being discussed in many places. The F-duct is a good example, there were a few forums that "discovered" it, includng this one.
I think Scarbs does a great job of picking out the details and explaining them clearly. Long may he continue, and hopefully he gets a little inspiration to do so from our conversations.

Ah. Welcome to the office. We have our wind tunnel down the corridor and our HPC cluster upstairs. You can also visit our manufacturing facilities next door if you wish.
Any back to the point Scarbs... I used to frequent your site even before I came here. All I needed was right there - now all I need is right here. For the unsure amongst us there is your site. Which is a very good site.
Just saying it wouldn't hurt (would it?) if you big up F1 technical every now and then - you being a long standing member of F1-technical and all.

Yeah.
And one thing actually, Scarbs have luxury (a well deserved one) to talk with the top folks in the paddock, be at the tests and accumulated a helluva knowledge over the years.
His contribution here often clarified a lot of controversial points.
n smikle was informed about this by the owner of the copy shop near Scarbs' home. This guy had seen f1technical logo on some material brought to be printed by Scarbs' wife, since Scarbs was too tight to give 40e for a ink-jet printer.
After that n smikle informed the FIA and local police to investigate how Scarbs obtained top-secret f1technical material.
It turned out that one of the f1technical forum moderators - Ciro PabΓ³n, wasn't pleased with his treatment within f1technical team, and decided to give top secret data to rival site.
Ciro denied these accusations as well those of attempts to sabotage f1technical servers by pouring talcum powder into their 5.4" floppy-disc, despite the fact that traces of talcum were found at his home.
All f1technical visitors recently had problems with reliability and speed of f1technical, so it's more than obvious what caused them, and why Ciro isn't moderator anymore.
