Gateway laptop sound

Since I bought my Gateway laptop a year and a half ago, the only "fault" it has had so far is a very annoying sound made when you plug in or unplug the power cord. I've made a few feeble attempts at figuring out if their is an option to turn that "beep" off but no luck yet. Does anyone have experience with this brand or problem in general?

Although it's not really a problem, but it's embarrassing and annoying to have the loud beep, especially in public. I've had to adapt to it by muting the volume when I'm about to plug or unplug it, but it's hardly the best way to go about it.

Help/advice would really be appreciated.

Here is the solution to get rid of the annoying PC BEEP. Download Realtek HD Audio 2.29 Driver and it will have the option to disable PC BEEP. I know it's an older version, but I tested it and it works perfectly. You will be able to use virtual surround sound, Realtek's microphone special options, and all the Realtek sound effects, etc. without the annoying PC BEEP.

While I did not download that driver, the screen shot in your quote led the way and I just completely muted the 'PC Speaker', since 0 level volume wasn't enough. Worked like a charm!
