Definition of high noses vs low noses

So high nose is a no brainer too then. Only the HRT is left with a low nose.

McLaren are using a "low nose" this year as well.

nope Mclaren is high nose. To me, high nose is the concept of letting air under the nose and side sweeping it when it reaches behind the barge boards. Mclaren's nose bare changed in height from last year, it is still above the front wheel centers so it's high nose in function and looks. You can see the nose sloping from front to back:

Here is some insight: Look at the wheel center and the which way the air in front of the noses is being diverted. Look at the ramp at the tip of the noses too. The TOP surface OF THE CHASSIS of the '25 and '26 is lower than the '24, but believe it or not the bottom surface of '24 nose cone is lower.

My definition would be "lower than the mean nose height for the year", or if you want to really push it, "lower than the mean nose height minus the standard deviation". I'm certain the McLaren qualifies under the first, I'd be fairly confident under the second... though the HRT may push them out from below the standard dev.

That is, when people say "that has a low nose", they don't mean to describe some destinction that the design team were thinking about – i.e. "hmm, shall we go with a high nose concept or a low nose one" that makes the car behave totally differently. Instead, they're simply pointing out "hey, that car has a lower nose than the others".
