Formula One is all about reliability - Hamilton
It's the golden rule in Formula One, but the last few weeks the rule has been confirmed: "reliability is the key to the title". The Ferrari team seems to have the fastest car on the grid at the moment, but not the most reliable.
During the Hungarian Grand Prix, before the summer break, Felipe Massa suffered an engine blow just a few laps before he would cross the finish line as winner of the race. This weekend, at Valencia, it was team mate Kimi Raikkonen's engine who gave up on him.
For Lewis Hamilton the reliability problems of Ferrari could make his stroll to his first ever Championship win a lot easier.
The McLaren driver declared to the British press: “Formula One is all about reliability. They (Ferrari) can have the quickest car, but if it is not reliable it's their problem. We have got a really quick package, but we have also got amazing reliability. I have not been having any problems.
"The next two races are the hardest races in the year and it will be interesting to see how their engines go. Maybe it was a batch of two bad engines, but it will be interesting to see how they manage that in the next race and if they have the same problem.”
