I still love Formula One - Peter Sauber
Peter Sauber has been a major player in Formula One for 16 years, first as team boss and then, since the start of 2006, as consultant to the BMW Sauber F1 Team. The Swiss has maintained his enthusiasm for motor sport's elite class, and is hoping for a successful end to the season.
Sauber ran his own team from 1993 until midway through 2005, when BMW took over the controlling interest in Sauber AG. From this point onwards, Sauber limited his role to consultancy and representative tasks - however, this didn't alter his passion for Formula One. "I still love Formula One," says Sauber. "I will travel to ten races this year. I enjoy it, and as long as I am needed I shall gladly continue."
The end of the European Grand Prix saw the BMW Sauber F1 Team enter the final third of its third season. Sauber will be at some of the remaining six races in person, and is keeping his fingers crossed for a successful end to the season for the team from Munich and Hinwil. "I will definitely be in Monza, as well as Shanghai and Singapore," says Sauber. "Then I shall round the season off by travelling to São Paulo, because I hope that we will have secured third place."
