Timetable overhaul for Singapore GP
The officials of the Singapore Grand Prix, the first ever night race, have confirmed a major timetable overhaul. The new time table comes after the F1 teams expressed their concerns about not enough track time in the dark with the original timetable. That's why the organisers of the GP decided to move back the practice sessions and the qualifying session.
The first Friday free practice session will start at 7pm local time, when the sun sets, with the second practice scheduled for 9.30pm. On Saturday, the free practice session is now scheduled for 7pm, with qualifying taking place at 10pm. The race remains at its original starting time of 8pm.
The first ever race at Singapore, and the first night race, will take place on 28 September.
