Williams satisfied with test Jerez session
Nico Rosberg joined the team in Jerez today for the first of a two day run at the team's Jerez test. Piloting the FW30B interim car and enjoying much improved conditions than team mate Kazuki Nakajima experienced yesterday as the weather remained dry, Nico picked up where Kazuki left off and spent the session working through set-ups and testing revised components in preparation for next season.
Nico covered a useful 122 laps of the 4.428km track (540km in total) and set the 8th fastest time of the day with a 1:20.309. Nico will return tomorrow for the concluding day of the four day test.
Dickie Stanford, Test Team Manager, Williams F1:
“Fortunately, it stayed dry all day today which allowed us to clock up the mileage with Nico while continuing our ’09 development and set-up programme. The modified chassis covered 540 kilometres without encountering any problems and Nico will finish testing the scheduled items tomorrow on the final day of this week’s test.”
