Williams not sure about KERS introduction date yet
The only Formula One team to be developing their own KERS, the Williams team have yet to decide on when to introduce the new energy recovery system for race use. Although one thing is for sure, that it won't be used at the opening Australian GP. Arguing that there are other areas of the car to improve besides KERS, among them overall balance and slick tyre use.
Commenting to 'autosport', a Williams spokesperson said; "The situation here is that we are working to bring the technology to the car but we are not going to race it in Melbourne.
"The rationale for this is that the greatest performance opportunities are currently in the weight distribution, balance and optimising set-up for the slick tyre. This is where we focus initially. We will introduce KERS as and when we have a system that can improve performance."
