Honda should have taken my offer - Ecclestone
According to Bernie Ecclestone his offers to help with a management buy out of the Honda F1 team were rejected, even though it is said that Ecclestone offered £100 million while leaving Brawn and Fry with 17.5 percent shares each.
Ecclestone said to newspaper 'News of the World': "I tried to help with the management buy-out. They should have taken what I offered. It was a very good offer for everybody concerned. It gave them complete protection but they wanted to do things on their own. Now all we can do is hope and pray."
He also believes at this point in time there are only three routes for the team to take, a "management buy-out, sell to Richard Branson or they could simply just close down the whole thing."
While also saying that if it were a big team the likes of Ferrari or McLaren in Honda's shoes people would be more surprised and doubt the sport, "But I don't think that will be the case with Honda. They didn't do too much last year, did they?"
