Nicky Pastorelli signs at Midland
The Midland F1 Grand Prix Team confirmed that Dutch driver Nicky Pastorelli has been signed up as their Friday test driver for 2006. Pastorelli already tested for Jordan this year and despite still having to confirm their main race drivers for 2006, news of Pastorelli's contract is an advance on the usual wait and see from the old Jordan Team.

Earlier this month, Midland confirmed that Takuma Sato, ex-BAR Honda, has been offered a race seat for 2006. Sato however has yet to agree terms with the team and has not taken up their offer. Narain Karthikeyan and Tiago Monteiro are still in the hunt for the second seat at the team.
