Prince Albert of Monaco visits Bridgestone
Bridgestone Motorsport was honoured to receive a princely visit from Albert II, Sovereign Prince of Monaco. Prince Albert visited Bridgestone Motorsport’s motorhome, on the occasion of the 67th Monaco Grand Prix, the most famous and prestigious motor race in the world, and met with Hiroshi Yasukawa, Director of Bridgestone Motorsport.
Bridgestone has enjoyed a thirteen year continuous association with the FIA Gold Medal Award winning race at Monte Carlo, enjoying ever increasing global TV coverage both from its technical association and commercial signage around the track. This enhances both brand awareness and sales.
Hiroshi Yasukawa, Director of Bridgestone Motorsport, said: "It was a great honour to receive Prince Albert at Bridgestone and to earn recognition from His Serene Highness for our association with the Monaco Grand Prix. This is the most important and prestigious motor race in the world. It is the jewel in the racing crown seen around the globe by one of the biggest television audiences of the year, producing the highest return in commercial value of all the races.
Monaco is the ultimate test of driving skill and one of the biggest tests of our Bridgestone tyres. Our continuous association with Monaco has allowed us to name the Bridgestone Bridge and brand the first corner at Ste Devote, together with other turns at this challenging track. We have been associated with some great Ferrari and McLaren victories here and this race will continue to be the most important on the calendar for commerce and prestige.
On behalf of Bridgestone I would like to say a big thank you to Prince Albert, Monaco, the Automobile Club de Monaco, together with the FIA and the teams for staging such a great and successful sporting spectacle. We hope to be involved with the Monaco Grand Prix for a long time into the future."
