Theissen on current situation in Formula One

Yesterday all currently competing teams have committed to the FIA Formula One World Championship. There will be no alternative series or championship and the rules for 2010 onwards will be the 2009 regulations as well as further regulations agreed prior to 29 April 2009. BMW Motorsport Director Mario Theissen responds to the current developments in F1.

Mario Theissen: "In the discussions about the future direction of Formula One, a breakthrough was achieved yesterday regarding the regulations and governance of Formula One. This is a very good basis for also using the next stage to reach a long-term agreement on the commercial issues that remain open - which we aim to do in the coming days. In this we have a clear vision for a strong Formula One in the interests of all those involved."
