Whitmarsh explains FOTA's aims

McLaren's team principal Martin Whitmarsh has explained what the FOTA is all about and why it had been put in place. His team and all those involved into FOTA aim to get more control over the sport, both in terms of income as well as organisation.

Whitmarsh pointed out that even though the governing body and the commercial rights holder were initially threatened by FOTA's aim to listen more to the fans, he believes that "hopefully, this will provide a platform to improve the sport", for all parties involved.
