Hartley not dismissed, but rather chose to leave Red Bull reserve role
Former Red Bull reserve driver Brendon Hartley is insisting that he personally chose to relinquish his reserve role in order to focus on his racing career, as his hectic schedule between contesting the World Seris by Renault and the Euro F3 series is already enough.
Hartley explained to the New Zealand publication 'NZPA', "That's the reason we decided to stop. I learned so much doing F1 duties and it was such a great experience for me to see how everything works, but to continue would have meant zero weekends free until November."
While adding, "I really appreciated doing it, but I haven't really had a good result this year so I need to focus on my racing."
