Kova must do better if he wants to stay with McLaren says Whitmarsh
Vodafone McLaren Mercedes F1 Team driver Heikki Kovalainen has been urged to up his game as his two-year contract with the outfit is nearing its end. During a phone-in conference with the press on Wednesday, Martin Whitmarsh made it clear that the Finn must do better in the coming races if the wants to keep his place with the Woking-based outfit.
Whitmarsh said to the press: "We are not in active discussions with any other drivers at the moment, but it's true to say that we haven't confirmed our driver line-up for next year. A lot of us want to see Heikki get some good results this year and that will ensure that he remains with us."
