STR breaks cover
Scuderia Toro Rosso’s 2006 season challenger, the STR01, made its first public appearance on this morning when it began testing at the Spanish circuit of Jerez. Italian driver Vitantonio Liuzzi was at the wheel.
Toro Rosso has been testing with a revised version of the RB1 in expectation of the STR01. The Cosworth-powered STR01 will be the only car on the 2006 grid to use a V10 engine. While the rest of the teams will be running V8s, Scuderia Toro Rosso will be making use of the clause in the regulations which allows smaller teams to use a rev-limited V10.
More news about the new STR01 will follow later.
