Day 2 for BMW Sauber at Jerez

On the second day of testing at the circuit of Jerez, Spain, for the BMW Sauber F1 Team Nick Heidfeld and team mate Jacques Villeneuve were on track again. Heidfeld had a fuel system problem and had to stop early today.

Nick Heidfeld:
Chassis / engine: BMW Sauber F1.06-02 / BMW P86 V8
Test kilometres today: 275 km (62 laps)
Fastest lap: 1:18.271 min (lap 50)
Programme: Nick worked on the set-up of the car and tested Michelin tyres for the Bahrain Grand Prix. Unfortunately he had to stop earlier due to a fuel system problem, and hence was not able to complete the scheduled programme today.

Jacques Villeneuve:
Chassis / engine: BMW Sauber F1.06-03 / BMW P86 V8
Test kilometres today: 487 km (110 laps)
Fastest lap: 1:18.207 min (lap 73)
Programme: Jacques completed the scheduled Bahrain tyre option evaluation. However, just at the end of the test day a cooling system damage caused by a foreign object forced him to stop testing.

Tomorrow Nick will continue with the Michelin tyre test for Bahrain while Robert will drive the new car for the first time. He will use the morning to get used to the F1.06 and then will do long runs for further Michelin tests.
