BIC helps charity

The Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) reached out in support of major charity event that aims to raise funds for children with special needs. The Annual Charity Concert (TACC) 2006 which will be hosted at the Gulf Hotel’s Gulf International Convention and Exhibition Centre on March 4 aims to raise BD50,000 for the building of a woodwork room for children with special needs at the Hope Institute for Special Education in Isa Town

The BIC’s BD1,000 donation in support of the event was presented to TAAC co-ordinator, Samir Habib-Allah by BIC Governmental Affairs and Public Relations Director, Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa.

“The Charity Concert will, we believe, go a long way in supporting children with special needs and we are delighted to be able to help support this noble cause,” said Shaikh Salman Al Khalifa. “This support is part of our commitment to the local community,” he said.

“The one-and-a-half-hour concert, beginning at 6.30pm, will include a special performance from children at the institute, a ten-piece band made up of local musicians, and the Manama Singers as backing singers,” said Habib-Allah. “Performers include Mr Habib-Allah, former front man of Battle of the Bands finalist Myoclonic Jerk, Filipino pianist Jojo Vivero from Upstairs Downstairs Restaurant, Bahraini lead guitarists Hussain Al Askary and Ahmed Abdul Aziz, Belgian sax player Philippe Vande Wiele, Australian vocalist Lisa Morgan, English trumpet player Mark Philips, Bahraini drummer Abdul Rahman Malallah, Bahraini percussionist Abdul Rahman Mukla, Bahraini bass guitarist Ahmed Qassim and Bahraini keyboard player Khalid Shamlan,” he said.
