Villeneuve looks forward to Bahrain
Like the other Formula One stars, BMW Sauber F1 Team driver Jacques Villeneuve can't wait for the 2006 season's first round, the Bahrain Grand Prix. The Canadian is convinced he is well-prepared for the hot race at the 'Bahrain International Circuit'.
"Bahrain is one of the hottest races of the year," said Jacques Villeneuve. "And on top of that, the first race is always the most demanding one, from the physical point of view. Therefore, the race will be extremely demanding for both cars and drivers." During the past two Grand Prix weekends held at the 5.412 kilometre track, located next to Bahrains capital Manama, the Formula One circus had to cope with temperatures up to 40°.
Irrespective of the challenges represented by the weather conditions, Jacques looks forward to the first Grand Prix of the season. "The track itself is fun and not too demanding," he added. "We will cope with the heat, as we are prepared for these kind of conditions. We have done a lot of winter testing, much more than last year, which is very positive. But now it's time to finally kick the season off."
