Pit lane limiter problems at Haas
Esteban Gutierrez was fined for speeding in the pit lane in the second practice session. The Mexican’s team Haas conducted an investigation which indicated that calibration problems caused the issue on the opening day of the Italian GP.
Gutierrez was caught two times during the second practice for driving over the permitted 80 km/h limit. The former GP3 champion was driving at the speed of 81.5 km/h at 14:11 and 15:20. The stewards fined the Haas F1 Team by EUR 200 for both cases.
The American team’s investigation showed that wrong calibration led to the breach of Article 22.10 of the Sporting Regulation.
On a separate note, Max Verstappen escaped a penalty following a technical matter. The Dutchman’s gearbox had to be checked and updated for this weekend. A seal was broken on Thursday in order to change RSH crosshaft cover seal. FIA’s technical delegate Jo Bauer confirmed that there was no penalty because it was done in accordance with the Technical Regulation.
