One person tested positive at the Austrian Grand Prix
Formula One and the FIA announced on Monday that one person has tested positive for the novel Covid-19 during the 2021 Austrian Grand Prix race weekend.
The FIA and Formula One have made tremendous effort since the sport returned to action at last year’s season-opening Austrian Grand Prix. Both the governing body and the Commercial Rights’ Holder have delivered great efforts to ensure the action could continue in a safe manner for the teams, drivers, travelling staff and the people working on the hosting venues.
Since the start of the 2020 season, the FIA and Formula 1 have been providing aggregated information from each Grand Prix for the purposes of competition integrity and transparency.
F1 and the FIA has communicated in a joint statement that "at the 2021 FIA Formula 1 Austrian Grand Prix, between Monday 28th June and Sunday 4th July, 6,097 tests for COVID-19 were performed on drivers, teams and personnel. Of these, 1 person tested positive."
