Vasseur: Monaco win does not change our approach despite "a wave of enthusiasm"

Ferrari team boss Fred Vasseur has conceded that his outfit is going through a wave of enthusiasm, but he stressed that the Scuderia will not change its approach despite recent success.

Ferrari have displayed an improved performance across the opening eight rounds of the season. It led to two victories with Carlos Sainz securing his third career victory in Melbourne while his team-mate Charles Leclec took an emotional triumph last time out on home turf.

The Scuderia is looking forward to race in Montreal this weekend as it is intent on maintaining its current form. Team boss Fred Vasseur gave away that his team might enjoy a "wave of enthusiasm" currently, but it has had no impact on the Scuderia's approach.

"Earlier this season, we went to Japan on a wave of enthusiasm following Carlos’ win in Australia and now we have that same feeling in Canada off the back of Charles’ triumph in his home race in Monaco.

"Everyone is pumped and prepared to the maximum for this Grand Prix. The Montreal track is very different to the one in the Principality, even if there are still some slow corners. But in general, it’s much faster, requires less aerodynamic downforce and there are more opportunities for overtaking. That doesn’t mean our approach to the weekend will change in any way.

The Frenchman has praised his team for the improvements it has shown in various fronts, highlighting not only the development of its car, the SF-24, but also the steps the Maranello-based outfit has taken in operational terms.

"We are moving in the right direction on the technical front, on our strategy calls from the pit wall and in terms of how the team is working as one. Thanks to a lot of hard work, we have managed to further close the gap to the team leading both championships, but the gaps between us, McLaren and Red Bull are very close and so the slightest little detail can make the difference," concluded Vasseur.
