Krack praises Aston Martin CEO Lawrence Stroll amid Verstappen-Newey reports
Aston Martin team boss Mike Krack has praised the company 's CEO Lawrence Stroll for his influential role amid reports that Adrian Newey and Max Verstappen are on their way to the Silverstone-based outfit.
Aston Martin team boss Mike Krack has praised the company's CEO for his influential role, claiming that he is the most convincing person in the F1 paddock.
"Lawrence is the most convincing [person] of anyone in the paddock. He is very strong in it, but it is not only words.
Although Aston Martin isn't leading the way on track, but the company has made it clear how serious it takes its presence at the pinnacle of motorsport with its state-of-the-art Formula 1 factory.
Moreover, the Silverstone-headquartered team has been on an impressive recruitment drive which includes key figures like Enrico Cardile from Ferrari, who will be Aston Martin's Chief Technical Officer from 2025.
Furthermore, former Mercedes engine boss Andy Cowell has also elected to join the team, becoming Group Chief Executive Officer in October.
“If you look [at the factory], it is very impressive what is happening there, the factory and wind tunnel is state-of-the-art and Andy has a high opinion of Honda.”
“There are a lot of elements in the mix that can promise a good future as Group CEO," concluded Krack.
According to AutoSprint, Aston Martin has even bigger targets, having set its sights on Adrian Newey and Max Verstappen. Red Bull's former star designer will leave the Milton Keynes-based outfit next February, but he has already scaled down his involvement in the team.
While the Briton has been linked to Ferrari, those negotiations are believed to have broken down, and the Italian publication suggests that Newey has elected to join Aston Martin with the team set to announce the deal in September.
It emerged earlier that Newey made a visit to Aston Martin's state-of-the-art factory in June before he accepted a $100 million deal to join the team.
AutoSprint has now claimed that Lawrence Stroll is so determined to sign reigning world champion Verstappen that he would consider moving his son Lance to Aston Martin's WEC program to make room for the Dutch driver, who could parner two-time F1 champion Fernando Alonso.
