Williams complete spectacular demonstration run at Sao Paulo
Using the long break between the Singapore and the United States Grands Prix, Williams hosted a special demonstration run on the streets of Sao Paulo, with Alexander Albon getting behind the wheel of a FW45.
Williams' main sponsor, Gulf hosted a special festival, the Gulf Speed Festival last weekend in São Paulo, with Alex Albon taking to the Anhembi Sambadrome in the Gulf-liveried FW45.
The Gulf Speed Festival had a bumper crowd, welcoming thousands of passionate fans to join Gulf in honouring their heritage in motorsport and commemorate Gulf Oil’s first anniversary of operations in Brazil.
The Thai driver drove his FW45 which featured the ‘Bolder than Bold’ special livery. The special Gulf colour scheme was raced in last year’s Singapore, Japanese and Qatar Grands Prix after being chosen by fans last year, with over 180,000 votes cast in the livery selection process, designed to embody the spirit of two iconic motorsport brands.
Commenting on the day, Albon noted: "It was great to be in São Paulo for the Gulf Speed Festival this weekend. I loved seeing all the fans turnout for the event and getting the chance to see the Gulf-liveried car up close.
"Williams and Gulf share a special partnership, both with rich heritage, so it’s exciting to be a part of something that brings the sport to life for those around us. Thanks to all the fans for coming and I look forward to returning in a few weeks."
