Aston Martin announce key departure ahead of Adrian Newey's arrival
Ahead of the arrival of former Red Bull star designer Adrian Newey, Aston Martin has now announced a key change to its technical department, with Dan Fallows set to leave with immediate effect.
Aston Martin has confirmed that its technical director Dan Fallows will step down from his role with immediate effect, but he will stay within the group.
Fallows started his career in F1 when he was recruited in 2002 by Jaguar Racing as a senior aerodynamicist. However, when Ford announced its decision to stop its involvement in Formula 1, he moved to Italian chassis builder Dallara.
In 2006, Fallows returned to the Milton Keynes outfit, which had now become Red Bull Racing, where he took on the role of team leader in the aerodynamics department. In 2014, he stepped up to become Head of Aerodynamics.
Fallows then announced that he would join Aston Martin as technical director from April 2022, and he has now confirmed that he will leave his current role, but will stay within the Group.
Speaking of the change, Aston Martin Group CEO Andy Cowell, Group CEO said: "I would like to thank Dan for his contribution to Aston Martin Aramco in the last two years. Dan led the team to the success of the AMR23 which secured eight podiums last season."
Commenting on the announcement, Fallows noted: "In my time at Aston Martin, it has been a joy and a privilege to guide the technical team on their journey towards being race and championship winners.
"It is time for me to pass on the baton, but I look forward to watching the team's future success, which I am sure will come soon."
