Having shown an encouraging performance in the opening practice session at the Las Vegas Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton continued to impress in the second one-hour outing, beating the McLaren of Lando Norris.

The second practice session saw Lewis Hamilton continue to show his fine form which he demonstrated in the opening one-hour outing, coming out on top in FP2.

The seven-time world champion set his benchmark just moments before the session was interrupted by a red flag brought out by Alex Albon, who parked his car at the side of the track due to a fuel system issue.

McLaren's Lando Norris finished only 11 thousands behind Hamilton, from George Russell in P3. Ferrari pair Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc were next on the timesheets in P4 and P5 respectively, while Pierre Gasly rounded out the top-six positions for Sao Paulo GP stars Alpine.

With only three races left with Haas, Kevin Magnussen set the seventh-quickest lap, while his team-mate Nico Hulkenberg ended up ninth on the leaderboard, with the Haas pair sandwiching the McLaren of Oscar Piastri.

Running a distinctive, one-off livery at Las Vegas, the RB pair had a quiet opening day at Las Vegas. Yuki Tsunoda took tenth, while his team-mate Liam Lawson ended up in 15th.

Red Bull had a troublesome opening day at Las Vegas. Max Verstappen complained about the lack of grip throughout the entire day, ending up down in P17. However, the red flag caused by Albon deprived him of setting a hot lap on Pirelli's soft tyres, meaning that he will have much more to offer in qualifying.

His team-mate Sergio Perez was 19th in his RB20, ending up between Williams duo Franco Colapinto and Albon, with the latter having only completed three laps due to his reliability issues.
