Business: Mercado Libre joins Alpine ahead of its 2025 F1 season


Ahead of the upcoming F1 season, Formula One's Enstone-based F1 outfit, Alpine has announced a partnership with Mercado Libre, the leading e-commerce platform in Latin America.
Mercado Libre is an Argentine company headquartered in Montevideo, Uruguay and incorporated in Delaware in the United States that operates online marketplaces dedicated to e-commerce and online auctions. As of 2016, Mercado Libre had 174.2 million users in Latin America, making it the region's most popular e-commerce site by number of visitors.
As part of the agreement with Alpine, Mercado Libre will feature on the A525, and the team’s 2025 challenger with their distinctive yellow logo.
In recent years, Mercado Libre has reinforced its presence in the world of sport. The partnership with Alpine extends Mercado Libre's presence in Formula One and "strengthens its commitment to innovation and with supporting Latin American talent on the global stage. Through sport, the company aims to inspire, challenge and connect with an audience of millions globally," read the statement.
Commenting on the partnership, Mercado Libre's CMO Sean Summers said: “Formula One represents speed, innovation, and the ambition to go further, which are values that we share at Mercado Libre.
"Expanding our presence in the category with BWT Alpine Formula One Team reaffirms our commitment to a rapidly growing global platform, particularly in Latin America, where enthusiasm for the sport continues to soar. We’re proud to have our signature handshake logo on the team’s car and even more excited to see the talented Franco Colapinto part of the team.”
