Jacques looking forward to 'a very exciting' track
For Jacques Villeneuve, the Monaco Grand Prix is a special race on the Formula One calendar. And the driver of the BMW Sauber F1 Team reckons he has good chances of performing well during his 10th appearance in the Principality.
Despite the fact that Jacques has already entered the Monaco race nine times, the BMW Sauber F1 Team driver insists the legendary street circuit has lost none of its fascination. "Monaco is a very exciting track to driver on," Villeneuve confirms. "It is probably the track where we were the most competitive last year with Sauber."
And Jacques believes his team has what it takes to achieve a good result this season as well. "This GP is a race where anything can happen," Villeneuve says. "You can start last and still get on the podium. There was a year when only four cars finished. There's always a lot of excitement around Monaco and I think we can probably do quite well there."
From a technical point of view, the main focus will lie on the tyres, according to Jacques. "The track is hard on the tyres because we drive with very soft compounds. However, the car is normally quite esasy on tyres."
