Button joins Davidson on day 2
Day two of this week’s Monza test continued in hot and sunny conditions with Jenson Button joining the test at the wheel of RA106-06 and Anthony Davidson in RA106-02 for his second day. After a couple of installation runs to literally clean the dust off the circuit, Anthony completed a comprehensive aero programme in preparation for the Canadian and US Grands Prix, and finished the morning session with some chassis set-up work.
A perfect morning, completing 57 laps (331km) with no problems. Jenson worked on further aerodynamic developments throughout the session, completing 47 laps (273km)
This afternoon, the ambient temperature had reached 36 degrees, with the track temperature soaring to 54 degrees. Both Jenson and Anthony completed Michelin tyre programmes this afternoon in preparation for Indianapolis. Anthony’s lap tally for the day was 120 laps (695km) while Jenson covered 117 laps (678km) despite missing the end of the session following an engine failure.
Rubens joins the test tomorrow alongside Jenson, both focusing on set-up work with the medium downforce configuration.
