Jenson and 'Ant' join the action

The Honda Racing F1 Team began a three-day test at the Circuito de Jerez in southern Spain this morning. Jenson Button and Anthony Davidson were on driving duties for the first day of the test which turned out to be typically very hot and sunny but with a strong breeze.

In chassis RA106-02, Jenson began his day with some set-up runs to get a good balance on the car. He then worked through a comprehensive aero programme, followed by a suspension evaluation and a second short aero programme. Jenson completed 83 laps in total today setting the fourth fastest time – a 01:18.280.

Anthony worked on some engine and chassis test items in the morning session, completing 62 laps. He spent the afternoon session running through a tyre evaluation looking at the tyres for the German Grand Prix. Anthony completed 107 laps in total today and set the third fastest time – a 01:18.198.

Rubens Barrichello will join the test tomorrow to take over from Anthony in chassis RA106-06.
