F1 mechanic for 1 day

At last weekend’s French Grand Prix, Sébastien Salaün – a Renault mechanic from the Gers region – joined the Renault F1 Team. Sébastien’s weekend of a lifetime gave him a unique insight into the world of F1. He is a technical consultant at the winning dealership from a nationwide Pole Position Challenge run throughout Renault dealerships in France.

This challenge was awarded to the best dealership in France, and the top outlet in the six operational zones, based on their results in quality, customer satisfaction and parts sales.

Sébastien lived the mechanic’s life from Thursday to Sunday as he gave a helping hand to the mechanics. He followed practice and qualifying from the garage, joined his colleagues on the grid and then watched his home Grand Prix unfold within the Renault garage.
