Every single point is important - Schumi

Monday, as he climbed onto the plane, Michael received a call informing him that Kubica had been disqualified for being underweight. This meant that eighth place was his, giving him a championship point.

The Grand Prix of Hungary thus ended in an unexpected way but "in the title race every single point counts. This is why it was good news", commented the Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro driver. "Now the gap to Alonso is ten points and we will go into the summer break with this in mind. These are ten points that we have to make up in the next five races and I am certain that we can do it. I can say once more that the championship is still wide open".

Another positive factor from this turbulent weekend is that the title chances are still good and that Michael can still claim his eighth championship. "We will concentrate all our efforts on this objective. As soon as we can get back to developing our car, we will be focusing on this", confirmed Michael.

Testing is now not allowed as the whole of Formula 1 is on its two week break. What does the fact that it cannot test mean for Ferrari's chances at Istanbul? "We should still be in with a good chance. In the last three races we have seen a big difference in performance and, above all, we have seen that changes in the external conditions can have huge consequences. This means that we have to be prepared, consider every detail and fight for each point". Michael will make the most of his holiday that ends at the end of August with the Grand Prix of Turkey by enjoying the time with his family.
