Super Aguri's statement concerning van der Garde
Yesterday, the Spyker F1 Team announced four test drivers for the upcoming season. The big surprise was that Giedo van der Garde, in December 2006 announced as the third driver of the Super Aguri F1 Team, was announced as the Dutch team's third driver. Super Aguri today stated that their contract with van der Garde still stands.
"Super Aguri F1 Team has a valid contract with Giedo van der Garde to drive for the team in the position of Friday and Test Driver for the 2007 FIA Formula One™ World Championship. The contract was submitted by the SAF1 Team to the Contracts Recognition Board on 23rd January 2007."
