Heidfeld looking to continue upward trend
With five points under its belt, the BMW Sauber F1 Team currently lies in third position in the Constructors' Championship. That's not the only reason why Nick Heifeld feels the team made real progress compared to the 2006 season.
The BMW Sauber F1 Team enjoyed a successful start to the new season in Melbourne. Nick finished fourth to secure five World Championship points and before his retirement, Robert Kubica, was in fourth position. Nick regrets the fact that his team-mate didn't get a just reward for the team's good work during the first race weekend of the season. "It's a pity that Robert didn't make it to the finish line. Our team lost several points because of his retirement," says Heidfeld.
For Nick, th early jump into third position in the Constructors' Championship is a promising sign. "You mustn't forget where we come from and what a leap we have made," he stresses. "Two years ago, Sauber finished eighth in the Constructors' Championship and last season, we finished fifth. In Australia, we were the third best team. It would be great if we could carry on that trend."
