New circuit planned at Gold Coast
The Australian state of Queensland, at the Gold Coast, is planning to build a new circuit that will be capable to host a Grand Prix at night. The circuit would cost $650 million and would be a threat for the GP at Melbourne.
Ron Brown, managing director of the Gold Coast project said in newspaper 'The Herald Sun': "This circuit will be flood-lit right from the start, so it would comply with what F1 and Bernie Ecclestone have been talking about in Melbourne with the possibility of an Australian Grand Prix run under light."
